Early Spring Conversations
…and beer.
Thanks to all who showed up at Black Husky in Riverwest this evening. As it usually does, the conversation went many directions and contained no shortage of ideas. What’s the next task for this growing group (at least three new faces tonight) and how soon? Build planters to create safer spaces for pedestrians? “Share the path” stencils on the Oak Leaf? Help make the intersection of 76th and Honey Creek Parkway safer? Activate Kilbourn Reservoir Park?
Yes.
No city, town, village, or neighborhood thrives without people who show up. This is just part of the crew ready to do that. 2024 has already seen members of Strong Town Metro MKE make multiple contacts with elected officials, backstop community organizers, build more bus benches, and produced one aldermanic candidate. A lot of small steps equal much larger ones.
